![]() ![]() While the intent was to streamline the universe and lead to more crossovers, the COVID-19 pandemic shifted those plans and in recent years many of the series have concluded or been canceled. This was the intention for the CW crossover event, to finally bring in the heroes like Supergirl and Black Lightning into the Arrowverse while also being a giant celebration of all DC adaptations over the past six decades, with appearances and references from the 1960s Adam West Batman and the 1978 Superman film, to DC series on other networks at the time like Lucifer and Titans. ![]() The intention was to help streamline the DC Universe and get rid of the multiverse, and did so in a grand epic spectacle that united various heroes from different realities (from different publications that DC had purchased, like the heroes of Fawcett Comics and Charlton Comics). Published in 1985 to mark the 50th anniversary of Superman and the birth of the DC Comics universe, Crisis on Infinite Earths was written by Marv Wolfman and penciled by the late great George Pérez. ![]() ![]() ![]() And we hit the jackpot with Ben Aldridge. Gray and his mother obsessively research possible carcinogens to pinpoint anything that may have triggered the once-effervescent Maggie’s cancer. Deep in denial, Gray’s father withdraws and loses himself in work. Life’s all good until Gray’s younger sister, 12-year-old Maggie, begins to complain about aches in her legs and arms. After splashing around together in a hot tub, Natalie (who has a voice like Lois on Family Guy) seems willing to punch Gray’s V-card. Also, I felt the love triangle, or square, or whatever you want to call it, a little drawn out and slightly silly. ![]() I was saddened by Aunt Polly's seemingly brief time at playing the Glad Game and wish that those principles would have sunk in deeper so that when the trials came, she would have been able to continue being glad. ![]() I simply must know if and when and to whom they married. The first half of this book takes place soon after "Pollyanna," with the second half being about her growing up, how she finds work and falls in love - a part that I always enjoy reading about, particularly when a character has become a favorite. ![]() |
